Q Are there any plans to release a Pocket PC version of Mentor on the move?
A Yes, we're working on a Pocket PC version - however this is just in the planning stages so we're not close to release yet. Check the website later in the year for news on this.
Q Will there be updates? How do I get them?
A The updating of Mentor on the move is an ongoing process, and we will periodically provide fixes and improvements. We value your feedback and will endeavour to action requests and suggestions from customers wherever possible. Updates will be downloadable directly from the site.
Q I use a Palm Tungsten T3 and cannot view the text full screen - how do I enable this facility?
A In order to view the full screen you must install some additional files. From the menu on this site click on 'Registering a new card' and then 'Important information before installing'. Follow the instructions provided.
Q At the EMIS NUG conference it has been mentioned that the BNF will be added into the package with Mentor. This would give it HUGE appeal. Are plans progressing in this direction?
A The British National Formulary (BNF) documents are being processed at the moment and its publication has been prioritised. The full EMIS BNF Explorer available for Clinical Systems users will be ready for you to use on the handheld. We hope to release it towards the end of March.
Q I own a PalmOne Zire 72 running Palm OS 5.2.8. I am told this is compatible with Mentor on the move but does it have enough memory? (Max 32 megabytes)
A Yes
Q I own a treo 600 which runs the palm operating system. I have a memory card with approx 30mb. Will it work on such a device?
A The Treo 600 and 650 are currently not supported in Mentor on the move due to resolution limitation. 30Mb is too small for the amount of Data Mentor on the move holds.
Q I run a lot of software off a memory card and also use my device as navigator. I would need to maintain that functionality. If I sent you a 1Gb card could you load Mentor on the move on to that please as I would not want to keep swapping cards over.
A There is no problem for us to install Mentor on the move on a card you supply, however you need to make sure this card arrives here safely (ie Registered Letter)
Q I keep getting an error message "The file was not found at the specified location (VFS2A08)". What is wrong?
A The card is probably damaged, please send an email to info@mentor-online.com including your card number/order number. We will get back to you as soon as possible...
Q What handhelds would you recommend for this?
A The Palm Tungsten Range (T|C, T|E, T3, T5, LifeDrive) are the best devices you can get for Mentor on the move. It also works on the Zire 72 and 72s.
Q To run Mentor on the move you need to remove your existing memory card and put in the mentor one whenever you wish to use it. Is this correct?
A This is correct although we are working on a installable version of Mentor on the move for people with devices like the Tungsten T5 and the LifeDrive, both of which have sufficient Memory space. You will be notified in due date.
Q I do get an error message 'document not found' after using the search, what is going on?
A If this occurs for more than one terms, then it is more than likely you missed an update, please check the publications version and download the latest patches available on the site. However, if this happens to only one particular term, it is probably a data error and we need to be notified of it. Send us an email to info@mentor-online.com and we'll fix what is needed.
